8 April 2011
Large amounts of unlicensed medications have been seized by Department of Health authorities during a search of a house in Glengormley.
A guy was spoken with by department officers about illegally importing and subsequently supplying unlicensed impotence medications by means of the internet.
The 47-year-old was also questioned about other medication offenses.
He will now be the subject of a report to the general public Prosecution .
The search was brought out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.
Its senior enforcement workplace, Peter Moore, stated: "It is vital that we get the message across that unlicensed medicines can be unsafe.
"These types of products being sold, typically online, have undergone no quality assurance and there can be no assurance about their safety.
"You merely do not understand what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More notably, you do not understand the effect drugs like this may have on your health."
