This observational research focuses on the most prevalent conditions affecting children, their symptoms, supportive management, and preventive strategies. |

Setting and Participants |

|
|
|
|
The study was conducted over six months in a pediatric clinic affiliated with a community hospital. The participants included children aged 0 to 12 years who presented with various common illnesses. Clinical Records: The clinic's database was reviewed for additional cases of common childhood illnesses reported during the study period. |

The data revealed several recurrent illnesses, primarily affecting children aged 6 months to 10 years. The most common illnesses included: |

Upper Respiratory Infections (URIs) |
|
|
|
- Prevalence: 35% |
|
|
|
- Symptoms: Common cold symptoms such as cough, nasal congestion, sneezing, and fever. |
|
|
|
- Management: Supportive care, including hydration and rest. Over-the-counter antihistamines and saline nasal drops were recommended. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Gastroenteritis |
|
|
|
- Prevalence: 25% |
|
|
|
- Symptoms: Vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and sometimes fever. |
|
|
|
- Management: Improved hydration strategies using oral rehydration solutions. Parents were advised against unnecessary use of antidiarrheal medications. |
